Synopsis

Atkins’ chief executive officer, Prof Dr Uwe Krueger, will outline a view on the future in the infrastructure sector and ask, how will new technologies shape the way engineers work and the services they provide to clients? How can big data and predictive analytics be used to create ever more efficient cities? 

Audience: Senior industry leaders from large engineering and construction firms, construction project owners (public and private), industry associations, governmental and trade organizations and policymakers.

Lecturer biography

Prof Dr Uwe Krueger was appointed an executive director in June 2011, taking up the post of chief executive officer in August 2011. He is a physicist who studied at the University of Frankfurt, graduating with a PhD in complex system theory. He also studied at Columbia University (New York), the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Paris) and at Harvard (Boston). He holds an Honorary Professorship in Physics from the University of Frankfurt am Main and an Honorary Doctorate from Heriot-Watt University awarded for his exemplary entrepreneurial leadership and contributions to the application of science, engineering and technology to business and industry across the globe. Uwe has spent the majority of his career leading engineering and consulting organisations in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
